Custom Laser Cut Stencils Ireland: Precision Designs for Every Project

We've been cutting stencils for eleven years at TechCreate, and I still find it satisfying every time a design comes off the laser bed with perfectly clean edges. Whether someone needs a tiny stencil for coffee art or a wall mural made from multiple sheets, the process is the same: precise, fast, and built around what the customer actually wants to create.

Stencils might sound straightforward, but the range of applications keeps surprising us. We've made them for spray painting, reverse graffiti on pavements, layered multicolour designs, and everything in between. Based in Ballinagh, County Cavan, we ship stencils all over Ireland through An Post and DPD, usually within three working days of payment.

300 Micron Mylar Is the Sweet Spot for Reusable Stencils

The main material we use for stencils is 300 micron Mylar. It's strong, reusable, easy to apply, and you can get pretty detailed with it. That thickness hits the right balance between durability and flexibility. You can use the same stencil dozens of times without it warping or tearing.

We do stock 125 micron Mylar for thinner stencils, but honestly, most of the time we're using the 300 micron. It's the material that holds up when you're moving it around, cleaning it, and reusing it across multiple projects. If you need a stencil that lasts, that's where we start.

Laser Cutting Delivers Accuracy Traditional Methods Can't Match

The laser can cut to a fraction of a millimetre. That level of accuracy means cleaner edges, sharper detail, and a much faster design process compared to traditional die cutting. Once you send us your design and we've agreed on it, we send a payment link. After payment, we'll have your stencils made within three working days.

That speed comes from the technology itself. There's no tooling setup, no physical dies to manufacture. We take your file, load it into the laser, and the machine does exactly what the design specifies. No approximation, no variance between copies.

From Coffee Art to Wall Murals: Size and Scale

We produce stencils from small designs for coffee art right up to A0 size (over a metre). If you need something larger than A0, we can make the biggest stencils by combining multiple sheets and providing alignment marks. We've had people do large wall murals that way, building up the design across several stencil panels that line up perfectly.

The alignment marks are key. When you're working with a mural or any large format design, you need to know exactly where each piece sits. We cut those marks into the Mylar so you can position each section accurately and get a seamless final image.

Spray Painting, Reverse Graffiti, and Layered Effects

Most of our stencils are used for spray painting. People use them for branding, signage, artwork, you name it. One application I particularly like is reverse graffiti. You put the stencil on a pavement, power wash around it, and the design stays in the dirt where the stencil was. It's a clever, non-permanent way to leave a mark (literally) without adding paint or materials.

We also produce layered stencils. That's where you have multiple layers, and you spray different colours with each one. You can build up a really nice effect that way, creating depth and detail that a single-layer stencil can't achieve. We make each layer and help you align them so the colours land exactly where they should.

Concrete stamping came up in conversation, but that probably wouldn't work with Mylar. You'd need something thicker to withstand the stamping pressure. Our stencils are designed for applications where you're applying paint or wash, not physical force.

How Much Detail Can a Laser Cut Stencil Handle?

Detailed designs with fine lines can absolutely be reproduced as laser cut stencils. The caveat is that if you're going to use it as a stencil, it needs to be structurally sound enough to move around and apply without breaking. If you go into too much detail, you risk having something too fragile. The stencil has to survive being lifted, positioned, sprayed, cleaned, and stored.

That's a conversation we have during the design stage. We can show you where a design might be too delicate and suggest adjustments that keep the detail but add enough structure to make it practical. The laser can cut anything we design, but the real question is whether it will hold up in use.

Custom Designs and Business Branding

We produce stencils from custom designs and logos for business branding all the time. Printing shops, in particular, find this useful when their customers ask for laser work they don't offer in-house. Instead of turning down the job, they send it to us, we cut the stencils (or handle whatever laser service is needed), and they deliver a complete solution to their customer.

That's one of the reasons we set up to handle everything from one-off custom jobs for private customers to large commercial projects. Whether it's a single stencil for a craft project or a batch for a branded marketing campaign, the process is the same: you send the design, we confirm the details, you pay, and we cut.

Stencils That Work for Your Project

If you've been thinking about custom stencils for branding, artwork, events, or any other application, we'd be happy to help. Send us your design or logo, and we'll talk through size, material, and turnaround. Based in Ballinagh, County Cavan, we ship finished stencils all over Ireland, and we'll have them ready within three working days of payment.
